Agriculture Booth Winners Announced

As part of the 23rd staging of the Agriculture Open day, a number of competitions and raffles took place, and the winners have been named.

Permanent Secretary in Agriculture informed Nevispages on Monday that A1 Farm took the prize of best Vegetable booth. Val’s Delight won best Agro Processing booth and Tropical Blossom won best ornamental booth.

He noted that contestants were automatically entered and stalls were judged by three (3) judges. According to Mr. Evelyn, booth winners received a trophy plus two tickets to the Nevisian Chef Mango Feast at Oualie in July.

As he commented on the presentation of stalls this year Evelyn said “I think they did an excellent job, lots of improvement.”

There was also an in house competition within the various divisions of Agriculture. The Extension Division was crowned with best Departmental Booth. The different divisions were judged by three (3) judges. The Department booth winner received EC$500.00 compliments Mr. Walcott James, the Chief Extension Officer and Open Day Coordinator, plus two (2) tickets to the Nevisian Chef Mango Feast.

Along with booth competition, patrons were also given a chance to win a raffle which included a puppy, a pig and cattle. Frederick Parris was the winner of the puppy, William Daniel won the pig and Philemon Walters won the cattle.
