All Set for Annual Coastal Clean Up On For This Saturday

Charlestown-Nevis- The annual Coastal clean -up activities will take place on Nevis, tomorrow Saturday 26th September.

Mrs. Evelyn Henville of the Nevis Historical and Conservation Society, confirmed on Friday that a number of groups and individual volunteers have signed up as per usual, for the worthy cause.

The coastal areas to be cleared of unwanted trash and refuse, include: New River; Coconut Walk; Gallows Bay; Charlestown pier; Pinneys; Four Seasons; Montpelier hotel beach; Tamarind Cove; Jones’ bay and Oualie Beach.

Some of the groups on board with the project include but are not limited to: Hope Nevis; Oualie hotel; Four Seasons Resort; St.Paul’s Eagles group; Expatriates at Jones’ Bay and Cliff Dwellers; Girl guides; Green coast crew; MUA; GSS; CSS; Von radio; Shekinah Dance theatre; Aquatic Research Center; Ministry of Tourism and underwater volunteers.

The groups will commence clearing the coastal areas from between 6 and 8 am and are expected to be completed by 10 am.

The groups will then assemble at the Coconut Grove restaurant where a sumptuous lunch, compliments of the Four Seasons Resort will be served. There will also be some fun activities for the children and musical entertainment will be provided by Miss Janice Nisbett.

Drinks will also be provided by usual sponsors, TDC and Carib Breweries.
