ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING – St Christopher Children’s Home‏

You are cordially invited to the Annual General Meeting of the St. Christopher Children’s Home and Service League (SCCH) on Thursday 12th May 2016 at 5:00 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Ocean Terrace Inn, Fortlands, Basseterre.

At this year’s General Meeting we will honor and say goodbye to two long time Board Members, Sebastian Mottram and Cleopatra Richards.

Sebastian is a UK born construction manager and has spent 18 years in the region. The co-founder and construction director of the Silver Reef, St Kitts Development in Frigate Bay, he became involved with the Children’s Home initially in 2008 with the Friend’s Volunteer Homework Programme. Sebastian joined the Board of Directors with the intent of offering management and fund-raising assistance in 2009. Elected Chairman in 2011 he has brought a great deal of his management and organizational skills to the Home. As one of the Children’s Home chief fund-raisers his presence will be sorely missed.

Cleopatra (Cleo) Richards is the Chief Financial Officer and co-founder of Ternion St. Kitts Ltd., an organization that specializes in design engineering, project management and construction. Born and raised in St. Kitts, Cleo holds a Baccalaureate Degree in Accounting & Finance and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in International Business. Cleo has served as the Children’s Home Treasurer for several years. Ms. Richards has successfully balanced business and family and will now go on to spend more time developing her business ventures. Cleo has brought to the Children’s Home a high level of management and recording keeping skills – she will be a hard act to follow.

The annual meeting is also a time when the SCCH advises its membership, volunteers, contributors and the community-at-large on the work done throughout the year. A much needed organization that serves the most vulnerable population (our children), is a transparent organization. Each year the SCCH gives an accounting of its activities, funds raised and how those funds are spent. It is important that the Community it serves involves itself in this process.

There will also be an election of officers at this replacing the two retirees from the Board and the installation of new board members.

Kindly confirm your attendance by calling the Children’s Home at 465 4007 or by responding to this email. We look forward to seeing you.
