Charlestown Secondary School hosted its annual Sports Day on Friday, 20th February, at the Nevis Athletic Stadium, drawing enthusiastic support from students, staff, and spectators.
Distinguished patrons for the event were Von Hughly Browne and Tamesha Saddler, who joined the school community in celebrating a day of spirited competition and athletic excellence.
Athletes showcased their talent and endurance across a wide range of track events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1200m, and 1500m races, as well as the 4x100m and 4x400m relays and hurdles. The meet featured impressive performances throughout the day, with competitors demonstrating determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Among the standout performers was CARIFTA qualifier Kymarni Newton, who delivered an outstanding display and was among several athletes in exceptional form.
After a full day of intense competition, Red House emerged as the dominant force, accumulating the highest overall points to capture the championship title and earn top honours.
The event once again highlighted the depth of athletic talent at Charlestown Secondary School and reinforced the spirit of camaraderie and healthy rivalry that defines the school’s sporting tradition.
