Charlestown Secondary School and Nevis Sixth Form College Graduation and Prize Giving Ceremony 2016

(CHARLESTOWN NEVIS)-On the afternoon of Wednesday, November 16, 2016 the Charlestown Secondary School and the Nevis Sixth Form College conducted its annual graduation and prize giving ceremony at the Cicely Grell-Hull-Dora Stevens Netball Complex.

Under its Theme “Assuming Personal Responsibility: The Prerequisite for a Life of Success” the school bid goodbye to 199 students.

The ceremony began with the Invocation by Pastor Eversley Pemberton. This was followed by the National Anthem.

Chairperson of the ceremony, Ms. Joanne Flemming, delivered the opening remarks. Ms. Flemming is a former student of the school.

The Principal’s report was delivered by Mr. Edson Elliott. This year marks his 12th year being at the helm of the institution.

Premier of Nevis, Hon Vance Amory, also gave some brief remarks.

Former student of the school, Mr. Donovan Herbert, gave the feature address.

The CAPE Valedictory Speech was given by Orian Stapleton who attained the best results on the island of Nevis with 10 Units.

The CSEC Valedictory Speech was given by Ronicia Liburd. She passed 11 subjects with 11 distinctions.

The CCSLE Valedictory Speech was given by Aleisha Dunrod.

There was a musical rendition by the CSS Band.

The graduating class sang a song entitled, ‘Time of our Lives”.

The vote of thanks was given by Nuricia Isles and company.
