Digicel to Host Bob Marley’s 70th ‘Redemption Live’ Concert In Jamaica

Musical greats and sons of Bob Marley will pay tribute to world reggae icon

Wednesday 4th February 2015 – Kingston, Jamaica: A star studded line-up of the Caribbean’s best musicians are gearing up to pay tribute to world reggae icon, Bob Marley, at a free concert in celebration of his 70th birthday being hosted by Digicel on Saturday 7th February 2015 in downtown Kingston.

The concert, dubbed ‘Redemption Live’, will feature performances from Capleton, Cocoa Tea, Freddie McGregor, I-Octane, Judy Mowatt, Kabaka Pyramid, Marcia Griffiths, the Marley sons, Taurus Riley and Tessanne Chin along with some surprise performances. Last year, Digicel streamed the concert live to over 10,322 viewers from across the world. This year, it will be streamed live once again via Digicel Jamaica’s social media pages.

The Digicel team will also be participating in the Bob Marley birthday celebrations on Friday 6th February at the Bob Marley Museum which will be attended by the Honourable Minister of Youth and Culture, Lisa Hanna. The celebrations will culminate with the annual ‘One Love’ Bob Marley football competition where masters and celebrities will face-off on 18th February at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.
