Divonique Gives Back to Alma Mater

Charlestown-Nevis- It was a simple but very meaningful ceremony that was held at the Maude Smith Preschool on Wednesday 6th July.

On that day, former student of the school, Miss Divonique Liburd, gave back to the school, which gave her a start in her academic pursuits, in a real way.

Divonique during her presentation, explained that in 2015, she participated in the Gingerama festival’s GINGERETTE show and placed first runner up.

As part of her on stage presentation then, she had created a miniature house which she thought best to donate to her former school, to be used as a play house for the children.

Ms. Josette Myers, Principal of the school expressed thanks on behalf of the teachers, students and parents and noted that it is gestures such as these that make teachers feel that what they are doing is worthwhile.

She also wished Divonique all the best in her future endeavours.

Divonique then had the unique privilege of cutting the ribbon to the house and the jubilant little children, wasted little time in getting into their new ‘home’ and started playing immediately.
