Escaped Prison Dies Trying To Disarm Police Officer

Forty Three  year old Glenford Douglas, formally of Saddlers Village, was in police custody for a felony committed in the area.

The subject escaped custody from the St. Paul’s Police Station, and was located in the White Gate area. While attempting to take the subject into custody he made two attempts to disarm the officer. During the struggle of his second attempt to disarm the officer, the firearm discharged and the subject received a fatal wound to his chest.

The officer who received injuries trying to hold on to his weapon during the struggle, received medical treatment for his injuries. The escaped prisoner succumbed to his injury at the scene.
