Female stabbed at weekend dance

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Police officers in Nevis are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred at Pinney’s Beach Bristo on Saturday, May 30, 2015.

This media house understands that at about 4:00 a.m. Desiree Grante of Craddock Road was stabbed at a dance at Pinney’s when she refused the request of a male who tried to engage her in a dance.

Reports are that she pushed the male away, and as a result of that the male stabbed her in the leg. According to information received, Grante was transported to the Alexandra Hospital after she realized that blood was gushing profusely from her leg.

It is reported that muscles in her leg are damaged from the stab wound. Nevispages has also learnt that the wound is 6 inches deep.

Grante remains a patient at the hospital.

Police are investigating the matter and the perpetrator is said to be on the run.
