Ivor Walters Primary School shows Appreciation to Elders in the Prospect and Brown Hill Communities

The Student Council Executive Committee of the Ivor Walters Primary School in its outreach to the community presented gift baskets to the elderly on Friday, 31st October, 2014 “Embracing the Elderly in our Community Day.” Seventeen elders, in the Prospect and Brown Hill Communities were recognized for their overall contributions to the development of our beloved community, whether great or small.

They were:
Ms. Lillian Walwyn, Mrs. Gladys Browne, George & Mrs. Oretha Wilkinson, Ms. Fronsica Prentis, Mr. Jerry & Mrs. Rose Nelson, Ms. Judith Pemberton, Mr. Ricaldo Browne, Ms. Hazel Harris, Mrs. Maize Bartlette, Ms. Jane Grinaway, Ms. Doris Claxton, Ms. Carmen Brookes, Mr. Luther Williams, Ms. Eulalie Browne and Mr. Selvin Pemberton

The Student Council Executive comprising of:
Sheniya Wilkinson – President, Kaseya Manners – Vice President, Akeem Baksh – Treasurer accompanied by the Student Council Advisor Ms. Ercia Blake, Deputy Principal Mrs. Omelle Browne and Principal Mrs. Janice Whittaker-Richards visited the villagers and presented each with a food hamper. The recipients were all welcoming and very appreciative.

With this being celebrated as “the month of the elderly,” the Ivor Walters Primary School has chosen to show love to its elders in a tangible way.
