Jessups couple robbed at gun point

The spate of robberies continues unabated on Nevis. The latest is that a couple who reside in Jessups, St. Thomas’ Parish, on the night of Tuesday, July 14, 2015.

Reports reaching this media house indicate that the couple is Julian and Amethyst Liburd. Julian, who is also known as Touba, is a popular trucker; and Amethyst is a popular market vendor.

Reports indicate that as the couple and their children arrived home on Tuesday night at about after 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Liburd noticed some overturned draws, but did not realize that they had interrupted a robbery in progress.

Moments later it is said that two masked gun men emerged and held the family at gun point and took an undisclosed amount of money, and jewelry owned by Mr. Liburd.

It is understood that two men are in police custody assisting with investigations into the matter.
