Basseterre, St. Kitts, July 06, 2016 (SKNIS): The general public has been assured that the Department of Labour on St. Kitts remains operational and continues to serve the best interest of all stakeholders.
That message comes from the Acting Labour Commissioner, Shernel James, as the staff settles into its temporary home in the John Gumbs Building on the Bay Road. Ms. James said that the office is open to the public during 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. – the normal working hours – and has been since Monday, July 04. However, the regular contact numbers available through the government switchboard are not operational. Instead, the department has two cellular numbers that persons are encouraged to dial: 762-1029 and 662-2075.
The move out of the New Street Building became necessary for renovations to take place.
Ms. James explained that the office will be located on the Bay Road indefinitely and the public will be updated as information becomes available.
