LIME Supports ICT WEEK 2014 – St. Kitts and Nevis

Basseterre, St. Kitts & Nevis – October 3rd, 2014 – The Caribbean
Telecommunications Union (CTU) has partnered with the Government of St.
Kitts and Nevis to successfully execute a successful Information
Communication Technology (ICT) Work Shop for Seniors with full support and
endorsement from LIME SKN.
The ICT Workshop for Seniors began with a special opening ceremony featuring
cultural presentations and addresses from Minister of Social Development Hon.
Marcella Liburd and Minister of Informational Technology and
Telecommunication Hon. Glen Phillip.
In a very interactive session on the benefits of using Social Media to connect
with friends and family, Mr Kevin Edwards and Markysa O’Loughlin offered the
seniors present an abundance of valuable information which was well received.
The retirees in attendance eagerly participated and were given a number of free
data packages, LIME credit and a smart phone to serve as tools to better enable
them to keep abreast of ICT advances.

Ms. Eurta Chiverton, Systems Manager in The Ministry of Information
Technology stated, “we are thankful to LIME for the significant sponsorship
and an extremely engaging presentation which sensitized our older population
about technology, social networking and online security”
Kevin Edwards, Marketing Manager stated, “The ICT Workshop for Seniors
provided an excellent medium to engage senior citizens on the benefits of ICT.
Amidst a world of rapidly changing technology, it is extremely important that
the elderly get the opportunity to grasp the basics of social networking and
online security.”
This year LIME was a proud sponsor ICT Week to lend corporate support to the
ageing population of St. Kitts and Nevis, opening up new opportunities for
seniors thus bridging the digital divide.
