Maude Crosse Preparatory repeats last year’s success in the Test of Standards

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)– The Maude Crosse Preparatory School is currently celebrating their success from the just concluded Test of Standards Examinations.

For the second year in succession, the school has captured the best Test of Standards results on the island of Nevis.

The two top students are Jayden Dore with an average of 97.52%; and Patrice Nisbett II with an average of 94.62%. Both placed first and second respectively. Jayden Dore is the son of Kevin ‘Cox’ and Leticia Dore; while Patrice Nisbett II is the son of Hon. Patrice Nisbett and Cordelia Pemberton.

The school was also successful in capturing best results in Social Studies, Science and Language Arts. Jayden Dore received 95% for Language Arts and 98% for Science and Social Studies.

They also received three of the top 10 best results in the Test of Standards this year, Tyrique Smith achieving an average of 88%.

Principal of the school Ms. Cherry-Anne Walwyn spoke to this media house and used the opportunity to congratulate the two top students of the school. She praised the teachers especially the Grade 6 teacher Ms. Suseann Collins who had worked tirelessly with all the students to ensure that they performed to the best of their abilities.

Walwyn also saluted the other students and their parents. Ms. Walywn was delighted to announce that all nine (9) students were successfully accepted in the top two forms at the secondary level. She stated that six (6) of her students will be going to 1A1 while the other three (3) to 1A2.

The graduation ceremony for the school is slated to be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the Shiloh Baptist Church starting at 4:00 p.m.
