The Masters cricketers on Nevis are committed to the hosting of the 2014 edition of the Leeward Islands Masters’ Tournament.
This was confirmed in a meeting held at the ET Willet Park on Thursday evening as the cricketers met to continue plans for the major tournament.
Nevis is the defending champions, having convincingly won the last tournament held in St.Kitts earlier this year.
It was noted during the meeting that assistance towards the hosting of the tournament is being solicited from the Nevis Island Administration and local business places.
However, the Masters have also committed themselves to several fund raising endeavours.
The first one will be in the form of a boat ride to St. Maarten. The boat is scheduled to leave Nevis on the evening of Friday 6th December and return on the evening of Sunday 8th December.
The Masters are targeting folks who will be interested in a shopping expedition to St. Maarten as they prepare for the upcoming Christmas season.
Persons who are interested in making the trip can contact Franklin KUT Daniel for details.
There are also several more fund raisers to be organized which will include a couple of luncheons, early in the New Year.
The Nevis Masters are also looking for volunteers to assist with the many varying aspects of hosting the tournament next year.
