St. Kitts- Nevis Bar Association donates to the Nevis Single Parent Group

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The executive members of the St. Kitts- Nevis Bar Association and the members of the St. Kitts-Nevis Committee of the Bar Association held a brief ceremony at the High Court, Charlestown, Nevis today Tuesday, March 09, 2010. The purpose of the ceremony was to make a donation to the Nevis Single Parent Group.
Chairperson and Vice President of the organization Mr. Theodore L. Hobson gave brief opening remarks.
The Nevis Single Parent Group was represented by Ms Sandra Pemberton. Ms Pemberton profoundly thanked the organization for the donation. ‘These are hard economic times’, she said ‘and the organization is very thankful for the welcoming contribution’.
Ms Pemberton also expressed gratitude to Mrs. Charmaine Hanley, of the Law Chambers of Hobson & Associates, who recommended the group to be the recipient of the donation.
A member of the St. Kitts- Nevis Bar Association, Miss Dahlia Joseph of Daniel Brantley and Associates, made the presentation on before of the Bar Association. The cheque was made out in the amount of $10, 000.00 ECD.
The cheque represents 50% of the proceeds of the gala dinner and ball hosted by the Bar Association in December of last year, at the Marriott Hotel, St Kitts.
The Nevis Single Parent Group is a team of single parents who came together as a group to tackle the issues facing single parents and children for whom they are responsible.
