Pink Lily Receives Cash Donation from Digicel

Basseterre, St. Kitts – (June 08, 2016) – At Digicel, the month of May was dedicated to all moms in St. Kitts and Nevis, with special recognition given to the Charity Organization, Pink Lily Cancer-Care.

For every handset purchased from Digicel’s DL Smartphone range during the “Mother’s Day” month of May, part proceeds were designated for the Cancer Foundation. The Pink Lily Cancer-Care Foundation is a non-profit organization which operates out of Nevis & specializes in providing a safe haven of counselling for all types of cancer, end of life care, grief and bereavement counselling and assists with mammograms.

At the end of May, a grand total of EC$1,000 cash was handed over to Lea Parris-Cambridge who founded the charity eight years ago and has battled cancer herself.

It is the ultimate goal of the Founder of Pink Lily Cancer-Care to open a Cancer Support Centre in order to provide full-time quality of all cancer care for both men and women of St. Kitts and Nevis and Digicel wanted to help in any way possible.

Marketing Manager of Digicel St. Kitts & Nevis, Marsha Chatterjee explains the reason behind the partnership: “Over the years, Digicel has assisted with fund-raising initiatives for the Pink Lily Group, however when we read on Facebook that the Founder, Lea Parris-Cambridge, was re-diagnosed with Cancer, we felt compelled to honour Lea’s strength and immediately launch a promotion which would benefit the Nevis-based organization to receive a financial donation.”

Digicel says a hearty thank you to all its customers who purchased DL Smartphones in the month of May which helped the telecommunications firm, in turn, support the cause of Pink Lily Cancer-Care.
