Police Investigating Late Night Shooting In Basseterre

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December, 06, 2015 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force is investigating a shooting of a male individual in the Basseterre area around 1.20am (Sunday, December, 06).

The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) is currently investigating the incident. According to victim, he was in his residence on Sandown Road when an unknown assailant(s) fired several gun shots into him home. The victim received a gunshot wound to his left leg.

He was transported to the JNF General Hospital where he was treated for the injury and is warded in stable condition.

Investigations into the matter are ongoing.

Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Criminal Investigations Mr. Ian Queeley has again, echoed the need for community involvement in the fight against crime and asked area residents or persons who may have been in the Sandown Road area around the time of the incident to come forward with any information. “If you have seen something, if you have heard something as it relates to this or any violent crime, or any criminal activity, tell someone. Call the Basseterre or Charlestown Police Station or any police station with your information. You can also do so anonymously by call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847 (TIPS).” ACP Queeley added, “We can only do this in partnership.”
