Police Investigating Shooting in Saddlers Village

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 21, 2016 (RSCNPF): The Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) is currently investigating a shooting incident in Saddlers Village which occurred sometime after 8.00pm on Friday (May 20) and resulted in the death of Willis Phillip, a 22 year old male of Saddlers and Uriel Michael a 23 year old male of Saddlers.

Three other persons were also injured, two with gunshot injuries and the other a broken hand.

Initial investigations revealed that the victims were shot by an unknown assailant(s) who fired multiple gunshots at the group. The victims were taken to the Mary Charles Hospital and the Joseph N. France General Hospital.

Investigators from the Violent Crimes Unit and the Criminal Investigations Department and technicians from the Forensics Services Unit have canvassed the scene for evidence. The investigation is ongoing.

We urge anyone who may have seen any unusual activity in the area that could be benefit to this investigation to contact the Police, your information can be critical to this investigation.
