Religious organisations need to play greater role in tackling social ills – President

Georgetown, GINA, March 26, 2015

President Donald Ramotar on March 25 visited several Mandirs in East Berbice as part of his outreach to several communities, calling on their membership to do more to raise awareness and tackle several of the social ills facing their communities.
Among the included issues the Head of State highlighted are domestic violence and suicide, two of which that are prevalent in society.

It is now the period of Navraatri and Hindus across the country are filling Mandirs to offer prayers.
