REPORT OF ARREST, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, August 17, 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrest, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period August 15-16.

 ARREST AND BAIL:

Arrested/Bailed: Leaney Chichester of Ponds Pasture was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of driving when was not covered with Insurance. Bailed: Leaney Chichester was granted bail in the sum of $$5,000.00 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on 1st September, 2016.

 Arrested: Delroy Williams of Douglas Estate was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of being armed with a certain offensive weapon to wit a machette and Vere Amory of Douglas Estate was also arrested, and charged for being armed with an offensive weapon to with a knife with intent to commit a criminal act.

 Arrested: Jason Christopher of Challengers Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for dangerous driving.

 Arrested:  Jermaine Jules of willets St Paul’s and Leon Francis of Grove Village St Paul’swere both arrested and formally charged and cautioned for the Offence of Assault with Intent to Rob.

 Arrested: Ronel Warner of Bay Hill Mansion Village was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for driving without insurance and driving without a valid or unexpired drivers license.

 Arrested: Denrick Gilbert of Lime Kiln Project was arrested, formally charged and cautioned  for the offences of driving without insurance, driving without licence and taking vehicle without the consent of the owner.

 Bailed: Trevor Mulraine of Mad House Alley Basseterre who was charged for Burglary was granted bail by His Honour Mr. Benjamin in the sum of $20,000.00 with two Conditions; (1) Report to the Basseterre Police Station very Mondays between 06:00am and 06:00pm (2) Stay 100ft from residents.   

 Bailed: Delroy Williams of Douglas Estate who was formally Arrested, Charged and Cautioned for the offence of being armed with a certain offensive weapon to wit a machette was granted bail in the sum of $3000.00 E.C.C. for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on August 22nd, 2016  at 09:00 hrs in the forenoon.

 Bailed: Ronel Warner of Mansion who was charged for the for the following offences Driving Without License and driving without Insurance was granted bail in the sum of $ 5000.00 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court  on Monday 5th September, 2016 at 09:00 hrs in

 Bailed: Wilfred Browne of Upper Monkey Hill was granted bail in the sum of $30,000.00 condition that he should report to the Stapleton Police Station every Wednesday between 6am- 6pm and stay 100 ft from the V/C.

 COURT CONVICTIONS:

In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Ms. Donna Harris and reported that Yolaine Dyer of Pine Garden, Shadwell who was charged for the offence of threatening language was convicted and fined $1,700.00 by to be paid by September 05 or if in default serve 30 days imprisonment.

Cleon Lewis of Janet Alley McKnight who was charged for the offence of battery had the charges dismissed for want of Prosecution.  

 In matters at the Basseterre Magistrate Court presided over by His Honour Mr. Benjamin,  Mark Akanmode who lives at Wades Garden was convicted for the following offences; driving without a valid driver’s licences he was cautioned and for driving when not covered by Insurance and he was ordered to pay $750.00 in three(3) days or if in default serve one  (1) month in prison.

 In matters at the District “B” Magistrate Court presided by Her Honour Mrs Hector the following sentences were handed down:

-Orland Phipps of Saddlers Village who was charged for Battery which was committed pleaded not Guilty and was found Guilty and was fined $ 600.00  to be paid by August 31 or if in default serve 30 days in prison.

– Ronel Warner of Mansion who was charged for Malicious damage which was found guilty and was fined $ 500.00 to be paid by September 15, or if in default serve 30 days in prison.

– Joshua Didier of Saddlers Village who was charged for Possession of Ammunitions pleaded guilty and was sentenced to Six Months Hard Labour.

– Stevie Flanders of Saddlers Village who was charged for the offence of Possession Of Cannabis, Possession with Intent to supply and Cultivation was found guilty and sentenced to three months hard labour for Possession with intent to supply and Cultivation, and received a reprimand for Possession of cannabis.

 OTHER ACTIVITY:

Traffic Accident: There were seven (7) traffic accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts during the period of the report.

 Citizen Safety: Police executed a number of search warrants on properties in St. Pauls, St. Peters (Monkey Hill) and other areas in searches for Illegal Firearms, ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes.  A few items of interest were seized.

 Community Engagement: Officers of various stations in the Nevis Division continue to do community walk abouts, in particular visit to village shops and other hangouts.
