REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

  

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 27, 2016, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period -24-25 October.

 ARREST AND BAIL:

Arrested: Kechel Pemberton of Soho, Sandy Point was arrested, formally charged and cautioned in the first instance for Wounding committed on May 7th 2016

 COURT CONVICTION:- 

In matters at the District “A” Magistrate presided over by His Honour Mr Benjamin and in the case  of COP vs Abia Hendrickson of Malone Avenue who was charged for the offences of (1) possession of cannabis (2) possession with intent to supply pleaded. He pleaded not guilty at his trail and was found guilty on both charges on 30th September 2016.  He was sentenced to prison for one (1) year on both charges to run concurrently on October 25.

 COURT CONVICTION:

In matters at the Charlestown Magistrate Court presided over by Her Honour Miss Yasmine Clarke, the following convictions were recorded:  

(1)  Trevor Hector of Fenton Hill was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and fined $800.00 E.C.C to be paid in one (1) month or if in default serve three (3) months imprisonment.  He was also convicted for the offence of Larceny and fined $500.00 E.C.C to be paid in three(3) months or  if in default serve  three (3) months imprisonment . 

(2) Menelek Tyson of Ramsbury Site was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and fined $2500.00 E.C.C in to be paid six (6) months or if in default, serve six (6) months imprisonment .

(3) Troy Mc Donald of Middle Island St. Kitts was convicted for the offence of Possession of Cannabis and fined $5000.00 E.C.C to be paid in six (6) months or if in default serve six (6) months imprisonment.

(4) Ray Hendrickson of Bath Village was convicted for Driving without due care and attention and fined $ 800.00 E.C.C in to be paid in three (3) months or in default serve one (1) month imprisonment.

(5) Veldon Jeffers of Clay Ghaut was convicted for the offence of Permitting to drive without a valid driver’s licence and was fined $500.00 E.C.C to be paid in three (3) months or serve one (1) month imprisonment.  He was also convicted and cautioned for the offence of Driving without Insurance.

 (6) Siddian King of River Path was convicted for the offence of Driving without due care and attention and was fined $800.00 E.C.C to be paid in three (3) months or if in default serve one (1) month imprisonment. 

(7) Stayon Beacon of Cane Gardens was convicted and fined $500.00 E.C.C to be paid  in three (3) months or serve three (3) months imprisonment for Driving without a valid driver’s license, He was also convicted and fined $500.00 E.C.C to be paid in three (3) months or if in default serve three (3) month imprisonment for Driving without insurance. Additionally, he was convicted and fined $500.00 E.C.C to be paid in three (3) months or if default serve three (3) imprisonment for the offence of Taking vehicle without the consent of the owner.

 OTHER ACTIVITY:

House/ Building Breaking Larceny: Police is investigating in a number of House and Building breakings that occurred in the following areas: Molineaux, Buckleys Estate and at the Charlestown Secondary School. 

 Search Warrant Executed: Police executed a number  of search warrants over the period of this report. The Warrants were executed in the following areas: Irish Town Bay Road and New Road.

 Marijuana Plants Uprooted: Officers from Newcastle Police Station, Task Force and the St.Kitts Nevis Defence Force  conducted a bush patrol operation  from Butlers Village to Maddens Estate via the mountain side. During the operation, they discovered and uprooted and seized  a total of 74 marijuana plants and 53 seedlings which were seen growing in the areas.

 Traffic Accidents: There were five (5) accidents on the federation’s roadways in St. Kitts over the period of this report.
