REPORT OF ARRESTS, CONVICTIONS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES

Basseterre, St. Kitts, February 15, 2017, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period February 11th- 13th  2017

 ARREST AND BAIL:

Arrested: Travis Crawford of Millionaire Street was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of receiving committed between January 30th 2017 – February 6th 2017  

 Arrested: Shamon Francis was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offences of Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with Intent to Supply and Cultivation of cannabis.

 Arrested/Bailed: Travis Jules of Willets Project St. Pauls was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the following offences: Possession of Cannabis, Possession of Cannabis with intent to supply and Cultivating of Cannabis.  He was granted bail in the sum of   $10,000.00 for his appearance at the Dieppe Bay Magistrate Court on Monday 6th March, 2017.

 COURT CONVICTIONS:                                                                      

In matters at the Charlestown Magistrate Court presided over by her Honour Miss Donna Harris the following was reported: In the case against Alister Thompson of Brown Hill hhe was convicted and fined $1500.00 to be paid by the February 17, 2017 or if in default serve  7 days imprisonment.

 OTHER ACTIVITY: 

Building Breaking and Larceny: Police is investigating a report of Building Breaking and Larceny which occurred at The Cable located at Cayon Street, Basseterre. Police inquiries revealed that the business place was secured on Friday (February 10) at about 6:15 p.m. On Saturday (February 1) at about 12:15 p.m., the complainant discovered that the building was broken into and a number of items missing. The items included two (2) 32″ Samsung Smart T.V. and one (1) vault containing a sum amount of money), keys and money bags. The scene was processed by the Forensics Unit, the investigation continues.

 Search Warrant Executed: Police executed a number of search warrants over the period of this report. The Warrants were executed in the following areas: Willets Project & Charles Ground both areas in St. Pauls, Davis Road, Middle Island and Ponds Pasture. They were in search of for drugs, guns and ammunition.

 Citizen Safety:  Police continue to conduct vehicular check points, stop and searches of abandoned properties and lots.  Police continue to execute search warrants on persons suspected of criminal activity.  In one such search over 1735 small marijuana plants were discovered.

 Traffic Accidents: There were seven (7) accidents on the federation’s roadways (4) in St. Kitts during the period of this report.

 Community Engagement:  Police continue to visit schools, conduct community and village walk patrols.  Engagement with local businesses continue in efforts to reduce risk of robbery, building breakings and other crimes against businesses.
