Report of Arrests, Convictions and other Activities.

Basseterre, St. Kitts, May 07, 2017, (RSCNPF):  Below is a report of Arrests, Convictions and other activities recorded by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force for the period May 03-04.  2017.

 ARREST AND BAIL:  

Arrested: Jessica Peterson of Frigate Bay was arrested,  formally charged and cautioned for driving when she was not covered with Insurance.

Arrested: Karlene Ann-Marie Sharpe of Manchester Avenue was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Forgery committed on 28th March 2017.

Arrested: Loston Allan Nisbett of Marion Avenue was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of  Possession of a Firearm and the offence of Smuggling of a Firearm.

Arrested: Hans Tyson of Hull Ground was arrested, formally charged and cautioned for the offence of House Breaking and Larceny.

Arrested/Bailed: Munroe Merritt of Cardin Avenue was arrested formally charged and cautioned for the offences Possession of Cannabis and Possession of cannabis With Intent to Supply. He was granted bailed in the sum of $10,000EC for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on Monday June 11, 2017.

Bailed: A male who was formally charged and cautioned for the offence of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge committed between September 2016 and December 2016 was granted bail in the sum of $30,000 for his appearance at the Basseterre Magistrate Court on June 12, 2017. Bail was granted on the condition not have contact with the virtual complainant.

 COURT CONVICTIONS:

In matter at the Basseterre Magistrate Court which was presided over by His Honour Mr. Benjamin in the following cases were heard and disposed of:

– (1) Steadroy Browne of St Peters  pleaded guilty to driving without being covered by insurance on March 17,  2017 and was ordered to pay $500.00 in to be paid in two (2) months or if in default serve two (2) months in prison.

– (2) Zuvei Erings of Bakers Corner pleaded guilty to driving with one lighted head lamp on October 7, 2016 and was ordered to pay $150.00 in one (1) month or if in default serve (1) month in prison.

 – (3) Henry Castro of upper Market Street was found guilty and fined $1000.00 to be paid in  14 days or if in default serve three (3) months in prison for driving without insurance. He was also fined  $500.00 to be paid in 14 days or if in default serve one (1)  month in prison for driving without valid license.

– (4) Maria Warner was ordered to pay $100.00 forth wit for failing to comply with traffic signs on January 23,  2017.

– (5) Colin Hendrickson was caution and convicted for careless driving

– (6) Leroy Blackmoore of New Road was ordered to pay$200.00 forth with for driving without seat belt on February 11, 2017.

– (7) Oral Carty of Old Road was ordered to pay $150.00 in 7 days or if in default serve seven (7) days in prison for driving without seat belt on December 24,  2016.

– (8) Rogers Percival of Sandy Point was Convicted and cautioned for driving without consideration for other road drivers and obstruction respectively.

– (9)Richard Dore of Godwin Ghaut was ordered to pay $350.00 in 7 days or if in default serve seven (7) days in prison for the offence of  careless driving which occurred on February 03,  2017.

– (10) Avein Archibald of Buckleys was ordered to pay $1000.00 in 2 months or if in default serve three (3)  months in prison for the offence of  careless driving which occurred on January 26, 2017.

 OTHER ACTIVITY: 

Search Warrants Executed: Police executed a number of Search Warrants during the period of this report. Warrants were executed on properties in the following areas: Rawlins Village, Cotton Ground and Gingerland. The warrants were executed in search of illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and instrument that can be used in criminal activity.  .

 Traffic Accidents: There were ten (10) accidents on the federation’s roadways (8) in St. Kitts and (2) in Nevis during the period of this report.

 Citizen Safety:  Police continue to conduct Vehicle Check Points and Stop and Searches along the island main road on St. Kitts and Nevis. Officers continue to conduct searches of abandoned properties and lots. The execution of search warrants continue as well. These activities are being conducted in support of anti-crime objectives to remove illegal firearms and ammunition, illegal drugs and other instruments that can be used to commit crimes from our communities.
