Basseterre, St Kitts, 19 January 2014: The Rotary Club of Liamuiga (RCL) has been a leader in foot care management over the past few years in providing specialist training in the care of the diabetic foot by the International Diabetic Federation (IDF) to medical staff throughout The Federation. They have also sponsored two (2) nurses to attend a ‘Train-the-Trainer’ Diabetic Foot Care Course in Tobago so that in future the country can be self-reliant in Diabetic Foot Care Training.
In keeping with this focus, RCL has been instrumental in helping to plan and organise and is now preparing to welcome to the Federation a dynamic group of sixty (60) dedicated aestheticians and pedicurists, along with the NASP Graduating Class of 2014, under the leadership of Dr. Katharin von Gavel, PhD; BSc Pod; DNM; DCh; and Founder of the North American School of Podology (NASP), to provide foot care service for interested persons.
This unique programme offers FREE FOOT CARE CLINICS to diabetics, seniors and anyone in need of leading-edge, professional foot-care. The NASP Graduating Class of 2014 will be offering a four (4) day hands-on clinic, to help Kittitians and Nevisians with skin and nail related foot problems, including extreme rough and dry skin, painful cracked heels, severely thickened toenails, and much, much more from 21 to 24 January 2014…ALL ABSOLUTELY FREE!
This diverse group of dedicated professionals will be travelling from across North America, and they will be volunteering their time and efforts to perform foot care services. In addition to this, Footlogix ® is providing all the necessary foot care products, again with NO CHARGE to recipients!
If the past sessions are any indication, the team will once again attract long line ups, with a potential of more than seven hundred (700) persons being treated over the course of four (4) days! Readers are encouraged to spread the news of this FREE NASP Foot Care Clinic by word-of-mouth, to those in need of help. Please note that persons will be seen on a first-come, first-treated basis and therefore persons in need of this service are advised to arrive early.
