BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 7TH 2013 (CUOPM) – Former St. Kitts and Nevis diplomat, Professor Simon Jones-Hendrickson has published his fifth book.
It is entitled: “Economic Essays on St. Kitts and Nevis,” is another collection of S.B. Jones Hendrickson’s economic essays written and presented over several years.
“These essays are specific to the nation of St. Kitts and Nevis, even though the opening essay acknowledges Anguilla. At the time of the writing of the essay in 1970, Anguilla was still part of the “Trinity of the islands set in an azure sea,” says a brief description of the contents printed on the back cover of the 401-page book.
The book covers a variety of topics such as the Economics of Education, Public Finance, Debt and Development, Migration, the Role of Government, and Economic Management.
In the potpourri of ideas, the central point is to present a resource book on one of the smallest independent nations in the world but one which has some points to offer to the small countries of the world, that size is not a constrain to survival and that there is life after debt.
The author, Dr. Simon B. Jones Hendrickson is a Professor of Economics at the University of Virgin Islands, St. Croix, and Virgin Islands.
