St. Kitts and Nevis Is an Excellent Investment Destination, Says Pm Harris

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 08, 2015 (SKNIS): Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr the Honourable Timothy Harris, was recently the featured guest on WTOP, a top radio station in Washington DC, where he touted the Federation as an ideal place for persons who want to invest.

Explaining the Citizenship by Investment Programme, Prime Minister Harris indicated that, “the investor citizenship programme that is being offered in the Caribbean islands by St. Kitts and Nevis, Dominica, Grenada and Antigua and Barbuda, is no different in substance to similar programmes offered for example, by Portugal, by Cyprus in Europe, by Malta and several other countries including Canada and the great United States of America.”

Prime Minister Harris, speaking specifically to the similarities of the programmes, indicated that the U.S offers “a pathway through investment that leads to residency and ultimately citizenship.”

He indicated that just as the U.S. has identified areas that can provide for the creation of jobs for citizens, “in the same way we have looked at our country and I speak now for St. Kitts and Nevis, and note that if we are going to sustain the jobs that are required to keep our country in a good footing to ensure that our people can continue to believe in the democratic process and its ability to deliver the good life, we have to have a good investor climate.”

The federation’s prime minister expounded that investing in St. Kitts and Nevis is extremely beneficial as “there are significant advantages in becoming a citizen of St. Kitts and Nevis.” He indicated that citizens of St. Kitts and Nevis are fortunate to have visa free travel to 133 countries; this, he said, provides for less hassle when travelling to “a multiplicity of countries in Africa, in the Caribbean and in Europe.”

According to Prime Minister Harris, although St. Kitts and Nevis is small, the country is poised to be a leader on the world stage. Describing St. Kitts and Nevis as a “great country,” he indicated that the Federation is proven to have one of the world’s best growth performances throughout the world with growth of percent. He noted that “6 percent is a growth rate that the US has not seen perhaps in living memory.”

Prime Minister Harris further revealed that “this year, 2015, among Latin American countries and the Caribbean, St. Kitts and Nevis is envisaged to have 5 percent growth that is doubling what is being envisioned for the USA. It is five times what is projected by the IMF for Latin America and the Caribbean.”

“This is a country small but growing,” said Prime Minister Harris, adding that “those who want an alternative avenue or an alternative jurisdiction in which to invest would certainly want to look at St. Kitts and Nevis as an investment destination.”
