A sizeable crowd was on hand at the St.Thomas’ Primary School grounds as the Giant Malt Primary School Football league continued on Wednesday 29th October.
It was the much anticipated clash between arch rivals, Charlestown Primary and St.Thomas’ Primary.

Within the first ten minutes of the game, the Charlestown Primary school supporters were stunned into silence as the St.Thomas’ strikers struck the back of the net, not once, but twice for double emphasis.

However, towards the end of the first half, the St.Thomas’ team seemed to have lost momentum and on the contrary, the CPS team was still going hammer and tongs.
Charlestown Primary scored just before the first half ended, as one of the St.Thomas’ defenders inadvertently touched the ball in the box with his hand. The penalty was capably put away by the CPS striker. The CPS team then returned in the second half with similar vigour, aiming for the equalizer.

It was not long in coming, as there was a run through and a superb sizzler was deftly struck into the back of the net.

Both teams fought hard to gain the ascendancy in the dying moments of the game, but at the final whistle, it was a score line of 2 goals-all.
The scorer for the Charlestown Primary School was Kenaicy Dorset and for the St.Thomas’ Primary, the hero was Vickram Channand with his double strike.
