Stolen getaway vehicle is still missing

(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- Police Officers on Nevis are still in search of a missing green Chevy Jeep P5422 that was stolen during an armed robbery on Friday, October 31, 2014.

News reaching this publication indicates that at about 8:00 p.m. a couple was robbed at gun point by two masked gunmen at their Brazier’s Estate home.

The robbers then used the couple’s vehicle to make an escape. It is alleged that the perpetrators were able to escape the scene with two laptops and an undisclosed sum of money.

It has been over a week since the incident occurred and police officers are still unaware of the whereabouts of the missing vehicle.

As the search continues, the Criminal Investigations Department on Nevis is also investigating an armed robbery which occurred in Hicks Estate on November 7, 2014 at about 2:15 p.m.

It was reported that a large sum of money was taken in the process. According to information received, one of contractors employed by the Nevis Island Administration was in the process of paying a number of employees when he was attacked by three (3) armed masked assailants and was robbed of an undisclosed sum of money.

Investigations into both matters continue.
