Team UNITY Statement on Court Decision on Boundaries Injunction Matter

Today the High Court Judge ruled that the Governor General made his Proclamation before the Court gave its order on 16th January 2015. We are not discouraged by this decision because we know our cause is just and in the end righteousness and justice will prevail. Team Unity respects the Court and its decisions . That is the essence of the rule of law which we must at all costs uphold. We know that so many are disappointed by this decision.
We want the electorate to turn that disappointment into determination to change the direction in which our beloved Country is headed. We want our people to turn the disappointment into dedication that will not be led by a dictator.

Let not your hearts be troubled. No one in this world has ever achieved greatness without setbacks, challenges and sacrifice. Our resolve today is even stronger to fight for our people. Team Unity understands that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We will continue to fight to bring prosperity to all in St. Kitts and Nevis. God has not brought the people of St. Kitts and Nevis this far to leave us. The people are ready for an election. We are ready for an election. The support has been overwhelming from around the globe. From Basseterre to the Bronx, from Cayon to Mcknight, from Charlestown to Cotton Ground, to all throughout the Caribbean, people are saying, “We need change in St. Kitts and Nevis.”

We know that the people of St. Kitts and Nevis will have the final say. They will have a clear choice. Do they want more of the same or change for the better? Do they want pennies or prosperity for all? Do they want crumb while Dr Douglas and his government have cake? Do they want more broken promises? Today you can get more from this government than you could get in 10 years. If they win, they will take it back in 10 minutes. The people know this. The people are ready for change. This government has lost the trust of its people.
As we go to the polls on February 16th to decide the future of our Nation let us remember that boundaries do not vote. You vote. Boundaries do not pay VAT. You pay VAT. Boundaries do not pay SKELEC and NEVLEC. You do. Boundaries have not felt the pain and suffering under this Labour/NRP junta. You have suffered. Boundaries do not require visas to go to Canada. You now do. Boundaries do not live in the murder capital of the Caribbean. You do. Be of good cheer and let us speak in one voice that we want a better St. Kitts and Nevis. On Election Day the choice is clear.
No boundary change will keep the people from the prosperity they deserve. One voter stated that no matter where I vote I am voting UNITY. UNITY TODAY NOW, UNITY TOMORROW AND UNITY FOREVER. Because we are better together.

The people have lost confidence in Dr Douglas and his government, which is why he must use trickery instead of good governance to run the Country. Team Unity will put the people of St. Kitts and Nevis first. We will continue to talk to the people about making their neighbourhoods safe, creating 2000 jobs, VAT relief, free pre-school, affordable health care, national sports teams, return of the people’s land, and prosperity for all.
We must vote for a brighter future for us all, a new beginning for our Nation, and a restoration of decency and good governance to our beloved St. Kitts and Nevis. The choice is yours. The time is now.
