The King Humbled on Receiving Prestegious Award

Charlestown-Nevis—It is not very often that the KING receives an honour from the QUEEN.

However, such was the case when KING DIS ‘N’ DAT -Keith Scarborough was among an elite group of four persons, who were bestowed with New year awards for 2016 from no less a person than her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the second.

The revelation was made by Prime Minister of St.Kitts and Nevis, Dr. the Honourable Timothy Harris, during his New Year’s address.

The four Queen’s honorees are Bishop Kelvin C. Jones, Ms. Clarita V. Richards, Mrs. Ruperta P. Richards-Leader and Mr. Keith I Scarborough.

Mr. Scarborough was bestowed with the award of Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE).

At one point in his life, he also ran on a Concerned Citizens Movement political ticket and was at another time the President of the Nevis Cricket Association.

In an exclusive interview with this media house, King Dis ‘N’ Dat noted that he was humbled by the signal honour but was also quick to point out that he was happy that it was given while he was alive.

‘You see, such honours are normally given when people are dead—POST HUMOUSLY and there is certainly nothing HUMOUROUS about that,’ he said with a laugh.

He also took time out to thank God and all of the persons who submitted his name for the honour; those who approved it and the many persons who have helped him and supported him throughout his lifetime.

‘I can’t forget the critics. I thank them too, because they always help to motivate me to do better,’ he said.

He however, especially singled out his dear wife of many years, Nurse Jessica Scarborough.

‘She has been there with and for me through it all. Through the ups and the downs—the good times and the bad times. I want to thank her so much,’ he state
