The Second Tropical Depression Of The Atlantic Hurricane Season Forms In The Central Atlantic Ocean

KINGSTON (MetOffice; 05:00PM) — At 4:00 p.m. the centre of Tropical Depression number two was located near Latitude 11.6 degrees north and Longitude 43.8 degrees west or about 1935 kilometres east of the Lesser Antilles.

The Depression is moving towards the west near 26 km/h and this general motion is expected to continue for the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds are near 55 km/h, with higher gusts. Little change in strength is forecast during the next 48 hours and the depression is expected to weaken to a remnant low by Thursday.
