The Way I See It

By:Curtis Morton
The way I see it, we have to quote the bible correctly when we are quoting it.
So many times I have heard people say that MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.
Well, the bible did not say that at all!
A few key words make a host of difference to the statement:
THE LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF ALL EVIL.
Well I newa!
So one of the talking points for the week is the revelation that one bank is proposing—well, maybe it has already gone past the proposing stage, to take out $25.00 a month from the savings of its clients. It is also rumoured that the other banks will be forced to follow suit.
Now what has been the immediate reaction.

Woman Hiding Money

One person told me that he was going to remove his money from his account and store it in a secret place.
Now with all that is already going on in our community, do you think that really makes sense?
The last thing you want to do is to have a pile of money at home.
I remember hearing a story of an elderly man who passed away and months later when the family was doing some repairs to the house, they found ‘a wad of money,’ hidden in the wooden flooring.
Now seriously, gone are the days of putting money into your mattress and so on and so forth.
So what do you do?
I still recommend the banks. Banks are made to hold your money securely. Of course you have to do some shopping around and find out where you are getting the best deals.
But stored at home? I recommend not!
I heard one person actually say this week that persons who commit robberies and burglaries, seem to have ‘smellers’ on them.
In most cases, they find the money if it is hidden at home.
Just the same way I started, is the same way I will end-quoting the bible.

Matthew 6:20 |
But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

So it is better to get things right with God, then all other good things will follow.
That’s the way I see it. How do you see it?
