Two Confirmed and Twelve Others Selected To Wear Higher Rank

Basseterre, St. Kitts, June 17, 2016 (RSCNPF): In a promotion ceremony at the Headquarters of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force on Friday (June 17), two (2) officers were confirmed into their current rank, and twelve (12) others were promoted to higher rank.

Two Acting Sergeants were confirmed in the rank of Sergeant, six (6) Corporals were promoted to the rank of Acting Sergeant and six (6) Constables to the rank of Acting Corporal.

The Police service is pleased to announce the promotion of the following Officers to their respective ranks.

Acting Sergeants Tressy Morrishaw and Ray Gordon were confirmed as Sergeants effective May 01, 2016.

Being promoted to the rank of Acting Sergeant are Corporals Jasper Carty, Winston Thompson, Treveron Richards, Dwight Davis, Paula Hodge-Jacobs and Corporal Matthew McGuire.

Selected for promotion to Acting Corporal were Constables Jerry Watt, Kishorn Charles, Valon Hodge, Marvin Thompson, Kaygel Jefferson and Constable Derell Boon.

The effective date of promotion for the Acting Sergeants and Acting Corporals is June 01, 2016.

The selection of these officers for promotion was the result of a transparent and competitive process in which all eligible officers were encouraged to apply for consideration in the filling of vacant slots. As part of the process each candidate also appeared before an Interview Panel and was interviewed

Commissioner of Police Mr. Ian Queeley congratulated the officers on their selection for promotion, and reminded them that with the increased authority comes greater accountability. He reminded them to take care of those they lead, and to lead by example,…embracing the highest standards of service. He expressed congratulations to their families on behalf of the High Command and all other ranks and encouraged them to continue to give of their best as we strive to make the federation a safer place to live, work and do business.
