Two in Custody for Sandy Point Wounding and Assault

Basseterre, St. Kitts, December 19, 2015 (RSCNPF): The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force have taken two persons into custody on suspicion of wounding and assault with a firearm. The incident occurred in the Sandy Point area, where two men assaulted a 17 year old male, by inflicting him with a wound to the head (striking with a firearm) and a stab wound to the right shoulder.

The incident occurred after 7pm on Thursday (December 17). The victim was treated at the Pogson Hospital.

Assistant Commissioner of Police with responsibility for Crime, Ian Queeley said, “this senseless violence must stop. I urge all stakeholders to get involved in our communities, find ways to connect with our youth to keep them from this destructive lifestyle, our churches and organizations to engage residents in community building exercises, our establishments, accept only acceptable behaviors, we all have a part to play, and if we do we will see change. This senseless violence has to stop for the future of our Nation.”
