UK Travel Professionals Visit Island For First-Hand Experience

BASSETERRE (10TH October, 2014): The St. Kitts Tourism Authority and the Nevis Tourism Authority are presently hosting a 11-member group of travel agents, tour operators and a journalist from the UK.

The group arrived on Tuesday via British Airways, and was treated to an extraordinary entry through the YU Lounge Private Jet Terminal at the RLB International Airport.

The visit is part of an intensive promotional drive – themed ‘Know the UK; Grow the UK’ – aimed at raising the profile of the destination amongst the UK travel industry to drive visitation and growth for 2015 and beyond.

Chief Executive Officer of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Racquel Brown, said the aim of the visit is to allow the participants to experience the island and familiarize themselves with the accommodation and visitor experience product.

“We expect that this visit will build on our newly established relationships with the UK trade, help to secure new partnerships and develop new business for the destination,” CEO Brown said.

‘Know the UK, Grow the UK’ is in its second year as part of a collaborative marketing initiative in partnership with destination product representatives from both St. Kitts and Nevis.
