Charlestown, Nevis, December 25, 2018 – Multiple reports that a police officer was injured and a local businessman robbed early Christmas Day.
According to Washington, DC-based Everton Powell, gunmen robbed Clarke, the owner of Clarke one Stop in Market Shop, Gingerland.
“Imagine he had police escort him home after Christmas Eve sales around 3 o clock this morning and when he opened up the door to his home when gun men put a gun to his head and removed some money from his pocket. The police noticed that they were held (up) at the door and shouted out police. They (gunmen) fired a shot which passed over the heads of Clarke and his son and shot the police in his leg,” said Powell.
“Here we go again. Not even Christmas or police, Nevis very bold criminals have respect for! Oh and they don’t even respect the most powerful man in Nevis, the Premier (Mark Brantley) either as the robbery victim who was also shot by his gate before this is his friend and neighbour and nothing has come of it!
You know it’s sad when neither the Premier, Police or Jesus can protect you in Nevis! Poor Nevis buh dat all I can say this Christmas morning,” opined Powell on his FaceBook page
