Except for a few minor delays in the flow of the events and the cold breeze towards the end of the meet, the general feeling from all of the patrons, was that the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School would have successfully hosted its 15th annual relay festival, on Sunday 22nd January.
The meet was held at the Nevis Athletics Stadium and saw representation from most of the primary and secondary schools from across the island.
There was no declared winner, as it was coded as ‘friendly competition.
However, the athletes competed fiercely and warmed the hearts of the screaming and shouting supporters, as there were several nail-biting finishes.
The events included: 4x 200; 4x 150; High school medley;4x 300; sprint medley; distance medley and 4x 100 meters.
The participating schools included host Elizabeth Pemberton Primary; Charlestown Primary; St. Thomas’ Primary; Joycelyn Liburd Primary; St. James’ Primary; Nevis Academy; VOJN; CSS and GSS.
