The senior citizens of Nevis will be featured in a sports meet, coordinated by the Social Services Department, specifically the seniors’ division of that department.
In a recent interview, Jameka Morton of the Social Services department revealed the following:
The meeting is slated for Tuesday 24th October, at the ET Willet Park, commencing at 1 p.m.
The lively seniors will participate in such fun races as: Thread the roll; throw the ball and lime and spoon.
There will also be the 10 meters DASH and some relay events.
The seniors will be split into representing three houses on the big day: Baby blue, lilac and baby pink.
The event will commence with a fantastic dance past.
Additionally, an invitation has been extended to the Primary schools to allow some of their athletes to participate in some exhibition races, along with Kurvin Wallace’s Over the Top athletic club.
For all of this excitement, adults will pay $5.00; children will pay $3.00 and children in uniforms will enter the venue, free of cost.
The seniors, true to form, had their first practice session at the Bath Village playfield, on Tuesday 12th September.
