Boutique hotel at Kittitian Hill named, 350 locals employed by contractors

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, JUNE 6TH 2013 (CUOPM) – The new boutique hotel at Kittitian Hill has been named.

It is to be called Belle Mont Farm. It is located on Kittitian Hill’s 400-acre tropical fruit farm and will be managed by Sedona Resorts.

Senior Project Manager Mr. Jack Geier told the Communications Unit in the Office of the Prime Minister (CUOPM) on Thursday the 84 rooms (cottages) will be completed in time for opening between December 1st and 15th 2013.

He said there is also a villa component called Yaya Groves and an 18-hole golf course designed by Welsh professional golfer Ian Woosnam called Irie Fields will be fully grassed.

The property, which first broke ground in 2010, is billing the course as the world’s “most edible golf course,” as it will be located within organic farmland.

Kittitian Hill plans to open a larger, standalone spa called Mango Walk Spa in 2014.

According to Mr. Geier some 350 local Kittitians are employed by several local contractors.

“We have paid out US$6.2 million to local contractors since the start of the project,” said Mr. Geier.

He disclosed that Sedona representatives are presently on St. Kitts and recruitment will soon begin.
