Cricket : Australia Women Take 1–0 Lead in T20 Series

Australia Women’s Cricket Team secured a convincing 43-run victory over the West Indies Women’s Cricket Team in the opening T20 International of their ongoing series on Thursday night at Arnos Vale Stadium, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.

Batting first, Australia posted a competitive 164 for 6, led by an outstanding 79 from Beth Mooney, with valuable support from Elyse Perry, who added 36. For the West Indies, Deandra Dottin was the standout bowler, claiming 3 wickets for 35 runs.

In reply, the Windies were restricted to 121 for 6, despite a spirited knock of 45 from Quiana Joseph, who provided some resistance with an entertaining innings. Australia’s bowling attack was spearheaded by Alana King, who delivered an impressive spell to finish with figures of 3 for 14.

The result gives Australia a 1–0 lead in the series, with the second match scheduled to be played at the same venue
