The Runako Morton/TDC Primary Schools Cricket Tournament continued on Monday, July 6, with one match forfeited and another producing a convincing victory for the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School (EPPS).
The day’s opening fixture between St. James’ Primary School and Ivor Walters Primary School was not played after St. James’ failed to appear for the scheduled match.
In the second encounter, Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School defeated VOJN Primary School by seven wickets in a dominant all-round performance.
Batting first, VOJN were restricted to 60 for 9 from their allotted overs. Ellis top-scored with 16, while 21 extras significantly boosted the team’s total. EPPS bowlers Ranveer Singh and Burton shared the bowling honours, claiming three wickets each.
In reply, EPPS comfortably reached 61 for 3, securing victory with seven wickets to spare. Ranveer Singh followed up his impressive bowling display with an unbeaten 21, while 18 extras also contributed to the successful run chase. Doras and Stewart claimed one wicket each for VOJN.
The victory keeps EPPS in strong contention as the tournament continues.
