The teachers and students of Nevis Academy collaborated to produce an exciting Black History concert on Thursday, May 23rd, at the school’s grounds. A highlight of the event was a competition where students from grades 4, 5, and 6 depicted the song “Rally Round the West Indies” by David Rudder. Some students dressed up with cricket equipment and maroon tops and performed creative dances to the song.
Grade five won the competition with a crowd-pleasing poem about Windies cricket. Their performance was enhanced by the surprise appearance of Elquemedo Willet on stage. Dr. Andrea Bussue, the headmistress, expressed her gratitude to the teachers and students for making the afternoon enjoyable for the audience.
