The Trinidad and Tobago Red Force ended Day One of their West Indies Championship clash in a strong position against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Antigua Recreation Ground.
At stumps, the Red Force were well placed on 247 for 3 after 64 overs, having taken full advantage of favourable batting conditions. Their top order delivered a composed and disciplined performance, laying a solid foundation and keeping the Hurricanes’ bowling attack largely at bay.
The Hurricanes, who are yet to bat, struggled to make consistent breakthroughs throughout the day, managing only three wickets despite sustained efforts in the field.
With plenty of cricket still to be played, the Red Force will look to build on their strong start and push towards a commanding first-innings total when play resumes. Meanwhile, the Hurricanes will be aiming for early wickets on Day Two to regain control of the contest.
