Cricket : St. Kitts Crowned Berridge–Howell Champions

The St. Kitts and Nevis Senior teams faced off on Sunday, December 21, in the continuation of the traditional Berridge–Howell cricket tournament, with St. Kitts emerging as champions.

Although official scorecards were unavailable up to press time, information received indicates that when the Nevis team arrived at the Conaree Grounds, the pitch remained covered due to earlier rainfall. Intermittent showers throughout the day resulted in a reduction of overs, and Nevis was sent in to bat first on a challenging surface that strongly favoured the bowlers.

The St. Kitts bowlers delivered an outstanding performance, applying consistent pressure and restricting Nevis to 82 runs in 25 overs. Young Rondre Daniel made his senior debut for Nevis, while Carlton Pluck stood out with a determined innings of 30 runs.

Batting under improved conditions, St. Kitts comfortably chased down the target, losing only one wicket in the process. West Indies Under-19 selectee Tilokani was the lone casualty, while Mikyle Louis anchored the innings with an impressive unbeaten half-century.

St. Kitts completed the chase to secure a convincing nine-wicket victory and claim the Berridge–Howell title.
