Cricket: West Indies Start T20 World Cup Campaign on Winning Note

West Indies began their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup campaign in impressive fashion with a 35-run victory over Scotland.

Batting first, the West Indies posted a competitive 182 for 5, powered by a blistering half-century from Shimron Hetmyer, who struck 64 runs in an aggressive display. Scotland’s Currie was the pick of the bowlers, finishing with 2 for 23.

In reply, Scotland were bowled out for 147, despite a fighting 42 from Berrington. The West Indies bowling attack proved decisive, led by Romario Shepherd, who claimed a remarkable five wickets for just two runs, including a hat-trick. Jason Holder provided strong support with figures of 3 for 30.

The convincing win gives West Indies an early boost as they look to build momentum in their quest for T20 World Cup glory.
