Cricket : Windies Women Out of World Cup

Having managed to get into the semifinals of the ongoing women’s World Cup, the Windies women faced off with Australia in semifinal one, on Tuesday, 30th June.

Australia won the toss and sent the Windies into bat.

There was an initial shock as star player Deandre Dottin collapsed during the national anthems, but she sufficiently recovered to play a bit of a cameo toward the end of the innings.

The Windies team could only manage a below-par 125 for 7: Matthews top-scored with 30, and Dottin got 26 not out.

The Australian women made light work of the target, getting to 127 for 2 in just 13 overs: Beth Mooney led the way with 61 not out.
Australia women won by 8 wickets and marched into the finals.
