The Ministry of Health is pleased to announce the official appointment of Dr Jenson Morton to the strategic leadership role of Director of Health Projects and Strategic Initiatives, effective immediately.
In this capacity, Dr Morton will provide senior-level leadership, coordination, and oversight for the Ministry’s major health-sector transformation initiatives. The role is central to ensuring the successful planning, execution, and integration of key national health projects, with particular emphasis on the construction of the new National Hospital and the implementation of its critical support systems.
The portfolio of the Director of Health Projects and Strategic Initiatives includes the leadership and coordination of several priority areas essential to modernising the national health system. These areas include health infrastructure development, digital health transformation, accreditation readiness, financial and administrative reform, hospital governance structures, legislative and policy reform, and human resource planning and reform within the health sector. Collectively, these initiatives form a cohesive transformation agenda aimed at strengthening service delivery, enhancing accountability, and ensuring sustainability across the public health system.
Dr Morton brings extensive experience in health systems management, institutional reform, and strategic project leadership. His appointment reflects the Ministry’s commitment to structured, forward-looking governance of large-scale health investments and the delivery of sustainable, high-quality healthcare services.
