(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- An early morning motorcycle accident has claimed the life of a young man identified as Julius Manners of Hickman’s Village, Gingerland.

The fatal crash occurred this morning Saturday, February 1, 2014 at around 8:50 a.m. on the island main at Market Shop, Gingerland.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Julius was traveling from the direction of the Best Buy Supermarket with speed and was unable to maneuver the corner. As a result he collided into a building.

One eye witness who saw the deceased when asked ‘what state he was in’, he replied “it’s easier to say what was not broken”. He stated that the deceased suffered severe injuries to all parts of his body.

Many curious onlookers crowded the scene as police officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Traffic Department processed and analyzed the scene of the accident.

Family members were seen crying as the lifeless body of Julius lay on the road next to his black motorcycle.

Julius Manners was pronounced dead at the scene by District Medical Officer, Dr Chandy Jacobs.

This is the first fatal road accident recorded in Nevis thus far for the year 2014.
