Football : Charlestown Primary Storms into Finals

CPS v SJPS

On Wednesday 15th November, the excitement mounted as the second semifinals of the ongoing Primary schools Football tournament took place at the ET Willet Park.

It was a repeat of last year’s finals, as defending champions Charlestown Primary, faced off with the St. James’ Primary School.

Kardeem Taylor-MVP

As per usual, the Charlestown forwards applied pressure at the top from the first whistle, but when they received their first goal, there was no celebration, as a ball came off the foot of one of the St. James’ defenders and rolled into the back of the net.

The Charlestown supporters took a while to realize what had happened.

Then came the Kardeem Taylor versus Austin Williams show.

The two star players on either team excelled.

Kardeem knocked in four super goals and Austin hit the back of the net superbly, on two occasions.

At the final whistle, the score line was Charlestown Primary 5 St. James’ Primary 2

Player of the match was Kardeem Taylor.

Charlestown effectively joins the St. Thomas’ Primary in the finals, scheduled for tomorrow Saturday at the ET Willet Park.

At 6 pm Joycelyn Liburd Primary will engage St. James’ Primary for 3rd place honours and in the big one at 7 pm the Charlestown team will face off with St. Thomas’ Primary for championship honours.

Adults will pay $5.00 to get in, while children will not be charged.
